Our principal community project is to promote the
flashID® Emergency Identification System™ to Australia
When we were first introduced to the flashID concept we immediately
recognised its social value and its potential to save lives through enabling
timely and accurate medical intervention in emergencies.
The principle of flashID is so simple and elegant that the immediate reaction
is why didn't anybody think of this before?
In simple terms, the flashID device is a USB key that contains a document
with personal identification, medical history, details of GP and other doctors,
next of kin, and so on.
We believe so strongly in flashID that we decided unanimously to adopt is as
a Club Project within our own community and to make every effort to ensure that
all Australians can benefit from it through its ultimate adoption as a National
Project of Lions Australia.
As well as the social and community benefits to be achieved by Lions Clubs,
the manufacturers of flashID have also offered a generous fundraising
opportunity through a two-level sales program.
Details of this are available in PDF format by clicking
here.
Another publication sets out some arguments for adoption as a National
Project and can be seen by clicking
here.
FlashID have also produced a short video introduction, which is on their
website at www.flashID.org/lions.

Conventions
As a Club, we participated in the recent Multiple
District and International Conventions.
At the MD Convention in Mildura, we met many club
leaders from all over Australia and Peter WS also made an on-stage presentation.
Similarly, at the international event in Sydney, we had
a booth and fielded literally hundreds of enquires from Australian and overseas
Lions. And Peter was also able to make an on-stage presentation at this event.
So see the presentation for yourself, click

International web page
In response to the very positive reaction from overseas conventioneers,
we have established an international page on this site. The page includes a
video. However, as it is a "blind" page,
it is not listed, but to see it, click
